Why Sunday School?
The primary goal of the Sunday School ministry at FBC is to help parents in their responsibility to raise the children God has loaned them in the “nurture and admonition of the Lord.” Our prayer is that not only will your children enjoy the fellowship and learning activities of Sunday school, but that God’s Word will saturate their minds and hearts so that in God’s timing they will respond to His claim on their lives with a genuine faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Sunday School Format
FBC is pleased to offer children’s Sunday School classes for children ages 2 through 11 years of age. Each of our classes is staffed by a qualified teacher and a helper, all members of FBC and approved by the director and the FBC elder in charge of children’s ministries. Many of our teachers have a professional background in education, and all of them have a sincere love for the Lord and His children. All who help with the children’s Sunday School Ministry are required to be church members and to be qualified through the Ministry Safe program.
Sunday School is from 9 AM to 10 AM on Sunday Morning. Ages 10 & 11 go directly to their classroom. Ages 2 – 9 meet together for about 10 minutes for singing and worship together.
What do we cover?
Recently, we adopted the Answers in Genesis Bible curriculum, a four year program which is chronological in nature and the lessons are synchronized across all age groups with different levels of depth. Families can learn at the same time and enjoy easy opportunities to talk about God’s Word together with an included midweek devotional. Lots of multimedia sources are used such as posters, downloadable videos, PowerPoint slides, memory verse songs and videos. Many activities are included as well, such as fun teaching stories, activities, crafts, games, and more (for younger ages).
