Over the past week we’ve had two big things happen that made me think of: Stop, Drop, & Roll.
Hopefully, you want to Stop, Drop, & Roll, too!
First – Due to several things beyond our control, we lost our Architect on the project. This situation is rare. It is very unfortunate. Humanly speaking, it is exasperating. The Architect functions like the Captain on a ship. The building authorities for Commercial building projects require us to have an Architect “on duty.” So, I’m thinking: Stop, Drop, & Roll
Stop – imagining the worse. Stop thinking your a hapless, hopeless victim of evil circumstance. Put Sovereign God into your vision.
Drop – to your knees in humble dependency on God. Ask Him to teach you, show you, help you glorify Him through it all.
Roll – your burdens on the Lord. Lift your complaint or problem to Him. Ready yourself to see God answer.
Psalm 55:22 – Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.
1 Peter 5:7 – casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
Second – Coweta County Building Department has issued a STOP WORK order on our project, until the Architect slot can be filled, signed, sealed, stamped, and resubmitted to them for approval.
Stop – the work on the site; other needed materials can still be manufacturer offsite; recalibrate the construction schedule! Keep Sovereign God in your vision!
Drop – to your knees in humble dependency on God. Ask Him to teach you, show you, help you glorify Him through it all. Display confidence in the Lord to the watching world.
Roll – Your burdens on the Lord — AND keep moving forward. Let God know; ask Him to help; do the work of finding that new Architect replacement, helping him/her “own” the blueprints and design, get the permit renewed and press on. We do have a short list of Architects to approach. Ask God for wisdom, discernment, and tenacity to ROLL ON.
Stop and Pray!, Drop to your knees and Pray!, & Roll ON and keep praying!
