So, the final (we believe) piece of approval in order for us to get the official construction building permit is in the hands of the Georgia State Fire Marshall. It’s been a looooooong road. Please pray together that the Fire Marshall would grant us his approval; then the County will be ready to issue us the Building Permit.
We know that parking is still an issue. We’re getting several more dump truck loads of gravel to keep (other) people from getting stuck in the mire just beyond the present gravel section at the back. Hopefully, and weather permitting, we shouldn’t have anybody stuck at church for days on end
There is also a new section being developed and should be ready for the sub-gravel section to hold seven more parking spaces near the front parking area across from the fire hydrant (where people used to park on the grass). Once graveled, it should be OK to use for parking. The final version will be asphalted.
We’re also working on another creative alternative to adding parking which involves electric vehicles (not Tesla cars!). More on that when and if it develops.
Our surveyor has marked the corners of building additions and parking/curbing/drainage key points with stakes and bright pink markings. So, please don’t disturb them. Look; but don’t touch. It’ll give you an idea of the foundation size of the edges of the new building additions.
The rain has slowed the progress on some of the ground work. We still have to relocate the main water supply line to the church around the new parking lot being developed in the front.
Here are a few photos to decorate your walls.
