Hope everyone has had a little opportunity to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather. Our construction workers have been using the good weather to do a lot of ground preparation work!
“Flexibility” is a good word to think of regarding how we handle the changes of the construction process. Different equipment and supplies, different work areas, different adjustments for us as a congregation to accommodate the flux.
We’re creating more parking spaces! The effectiveness of adding spaces will depend upon us using those spaces. It also reminds us to be especially careful parking, driving, walking around the parking lot.
By Sunday, we’ll have an “overflow” lot at the back, south of the Youth Room, which should accommodate 20-25 cars, if parked normally in rows on either side and a few in the middle of the square between the detention pond and the shipping container. It should be graveled. There will be two curb cuts allowing easy entry (on the East side, nearest the detention pond area) and exit (on the West side nearest the dumpster/shipping container). Please do use these spaces early in the Sunday services cycle each week.
We’ve also marked a line showing permissible parallel parking along the curb immediately behind the row of cars on the Youth Room/classroom side and one the curb alongside the north edge of the detention pond. Be careful! Pulling cars in and out of the zones of parking is going to require extra care to not bump into cars around and behind you.
There may be another curb cut and graveled area for about seven spaces in approximately the same formerly grassy area near the front of the church.
