Great News, Part A:
The Lord graciously provided a pathway for FBC to cross the final hurdle to zoning and variance permissions on our property. We are grateful to Him and all those involved in the approval process. We are legally clear to apply for a building permit. Doing so requires putting together a complex package of documentation, architectural drawings, and technical specifications. Typically the permitting process takes a minimum of 60 days, without normal bureaucratic delays.
Great News, Part B:
What if someone asked us, “If you could only build on this property one time, is this the building you would build? Does this building best meet your immediate and near-future needs?” These zoning and code restriction hurdles have caused the Elders to prayerfully address those questions. Taking into account the rising building cost estimates of the Ministries Center and the possibility that future restrictions might only give us one shot to meet our needs, we’ve been seriously exploring another option. We’re excited about the possibility of a solution that could meet even more of our foreseeable needs than the Ministries Center, “Plan A,” offers. The Elders and the professionals that comprise our building team have been working hard to come up with an answer to present to our church family soon.
